There is a point in everyones lives where mom tells you to finally take your stuff to your house, out of hers. Your childhood is packed in boxes. Things found?
This awesome model I got in 1990. I never built it. Been on a closet shelf since. A box full of role playing game books. It was popular then. I think those might ebay. The car, ill probably have to try to build. Yeah. I need that.

Into the basement is not the same as out of her house.

On my 30th birthday my parents showed up at my house with 30 wrapped "presents". They had taken everything I still had in their attic, boxed it up, wrapped it, and put a number on it. I opened one "present" a day for 30 days. It was kind of neat, but also kind of a pain in the ass because I had a ton of wrapping paper and boxes to get rid of.
I did enjoy going through my old stuff though.

Build the car! Perfect winter project. Spent yesterday going through the boxes of my childhood train set that my folks brought up from their house. Tough to make the keep/donate/trash calls, but I got it all in to two smaller rubbermaid tubs and freed up storage space in the shed. I didn't see much market for my old role-playing game books. Used stuff was going for $10 or so on eBay, so I just recycled them. Hope you have better luck. The weird part is just when you think you have everything out of their place, they'll find another 3 boxes somewhere.

Well...what would you like to know?

Im not sure. I have to look at the notion. I dont have models or a case for them or die casts or even room to start such a thing but this one...if the decals are good, might be worth building and putting in a display box all by itself.
Selling it...gotta spend time thinking bout that one.

well see what more they find. The game books are all 1985-1990 era. d&d, battletech, car wars, and not all in great shape. Theres a first edition fiends folio thats worth something I think. Ill have to spend some time on then when I get home.

Which RPG, which books, mostly. Old AD&D or GURPS or similar, could be interesting. Gamma World or old 2E/3E Shadowrun, also. Mostly curiosity until I hear something that says TAKE ME.

ad&d, car wars and battletech stuff but not in the best shape. Battletech source and mech books were heavily used. Adnd not so much. Possibly only binding issues on those. I think ill have to post on the rest of the junk.

Car Wars? Groovy. I know *of* it, but I haven't tried it. BattleTech I definitely don't have either. I will await a post with great interest.

Yeah, the hardback books and battle tech stuff is worth keeping. I only recycled the Basic/Expert/Companion sets. Figured if my kid was in to it, I'd get him new ones. I kept the actual hardcover AD&D books and Battletech stuff. Takes up less space anyway. Good luck! It's like an archaeological dig.

Oh yeah. there's a good post coming on my RC car.
I don't suppose there's any other events the Z can attend this winter, I missed the dyno day you mentioned cause of family stuff. I'm sure there's a place to hook up at sometime down the road.

Funny you mentioned it, but I got a note the dyno day got moved due to the amazing cold/snow combo. Details below. I'm still not likely to make it myself. My Z's in pretty immaculate shape, and our roads are still covered with slush, runoff, sand, deicer, etc. depending on how much traffic they see. Probably won't clear by Saturday. Will watch for your RC car post! I think I still have my MRC Tamiya Hornet in the attic. Wonder if I could get that to run again...
